The Choice '08

By: Daryl Beattie

Yes its just around the corner the big election that some describe as one that shapes the world and its hard to argue with that. Yes the New Zealand election is coming up and its between Helen Clarke and some other man and based on Helen's performance (based on the odds at centrebet) I'm surprised that her teeth haven't defected from her mouth and run as an independent. I mean sure she supports the All Blacks but do her teeth have to show their colours. The other one is the US election and it is has some similarities with understeer F1. A tale of two, one a former POW (David Hicks) and the other, somebody who uses the latin alphabet to spell their name (The Webbernator). The Webbernator has been the sensation of the championship and what is interesting is I make out that both these two teams have been the leader overall 8 rounds a piece while Lewis'll Hammer'em is the only other team to be at the top which happened after the first round. So who will take out the prize and will they finish on equal points?

It wouldn't surprise me if they finished on equal points and I guess if it was to be correct, although its not in the rules, my thoughts would be to do it like any motorsport and judge it on best results after that. This way of doing it would give it to The Webbernator if such an event occured and I can see it happening the way these two are shadowing each other. But what of the others Rotax 1 was up there for awile and I guess is the Hilary of understeer but the big question is who is the Sarah Palin? Speaking of running mates who would have thought anybody could have a worse choice of running mate than Chuck Norris. So who is underSteer's Palin, I think it is the The DR because he lives with Hicks, isn't going very well and sometimes makes strange comments but I have develpoed a theory about The DR and its that you can tell how much luck there is in a category by how well he does in it. In F1 and MotoGP he frankly went shit but in V8 and WRC he is in the top 10 so let The DR guide you on you underSteer travels.

So what has happened in F1 recently? This is the bad thing about doing a late report I can't remember the stuff I was going to write but I do remember James kept talking about the economy like he has some shares going down the drain and it being hard to keep your job in this climate but I first thought he was referring to the fact that the BBC won't make him an offer to do the F1. Hamilton won easily in China I know that and yes know I remember Kimi let Massa through and basically said so in the post race interview and when they went back to Mr. Personality, Zorba the Greek McConville had the biggest and stupidest smile you're ever likely to see. Saying stuff like watch this space, somthing big will come of this. He really does have an inborn journalist's instinct for a story doesn't he.

I hear it is going to rain in Brazil and I think the last time that happened there Fisico won in the Jordan. The McLaren seems really good in the wet particularly Hamilton whereas the Ferrari seems shit except at Monaco and Kubica went well there to and both Ferrari and BMW have a long wheel base I believe and then they both went shit at Silverstone so I don't understand it. It's Hamilton's to lose and lets hope he does just to hear the commentary of it. Late news is that Chris Munce is out of jail, I wonder if he was too pretty for jail but imagine him in the showers with a tall gay man called Bigfist, I find that funny!
