A lot has been said about Max Mosley and his well I don't exactly know what to call it, a lot of people call it an orgy but I'm not that comfortable imagining Max in that way and that's the real victim in this whole thing, my imagination. A wrinkly whatever-year-old do things to women with his wrinkly bits. That's not something I want to picture in my head so I looked up the videos on youtube instead. It turns out that his daliance was with 5 prostitutes (no relation to Alain) in a nazi orgy , one who I believe was married to an MI5 agent. I don't know why he needed 5, I can only assume that a group discount kicked in at that number but it isn't the most discreet of affairs, I mean he was having sex with half a country town and his gorgy seemed very much the cliched English upper class thing namely sadism followed by tea. The discreetion of it is also something that should have been on his mind as apparently a former Bernie E employee was made aware in January that somebody was after Max, a message that was passed on and I guess not heeded. It makes you wonder how he could so recklessly put his parents through all this if they were actually alive.

Max's father, Oswald was born to aristocracy in 1896 and named after his father the 5th Baronet of Ancoats which sounds like a made up title if you ask me while Oswald's Mother was so aristocraic that her father was named Justinian and in some way he was related to the queens mother. Oswald won a seat in parliament at the age of 22 following WW1 with the Conservative party and then married his first wife, Lady Cynthia Curzon two years later. His early political life was inspired by avoiding wars in the future and he started to fall out with the Conservative party over their policies on Ireland. In 1924 Oswald and Lady Cynthia joined the Labour party. Oswald was as busy in the bedroom as in politics having affairs with both his wife's younger sister and their step mother. I think it would have made family get-togethers both interesting and sleepy. In 1932 he started an affair with Diana Mitford who at the time was married to Bryan "yes that" Guinness. She chose politics over beer and they got a divorce. The same year Oswald started the British Union of Fascists after being impressed by Mussolini. The following year Lady Cynthia died but Oswald and Diana didn't marry until 1936 in secret in the home of Joseph Goebbels with Adolf Hitler as one of the few guests, Diana first meeting Hitler a year earlier. The BUF also had the Mussolini style blackshirts that would attack hecklers including one who shouted "Hitler means war!". MI5 were keeping a close eye on Mosley and his speeches were noted for their vitriolic attacks on Jews and in late 1936 a march was organised through a highly populated Jewish area. Anti-fascists put up blockades but they were removed by police and they came to blows and the march didn't take place. By the new year political uniforms were outlawed in public. With the outbreak of Max's birth in 1940 Oswald and Diana were placed in internment in a house in the grounds of a prison.

Early in his life Max Rufus Mosley travelled moved around a lot with his parents and from his teens he was involved with his Father's politics. It's said that he organised some political parties with great vigour and at one stage he saved his Father from serious injury (possibly by pretending he had a gun in his jacket) when Oswald was knocked down by a mob. He started racing with the money he made from being a barrister and said about racing "I heard somebody say, 'Mosley, Max Mosley, he must be some relation of Alf Mosley, the coachbuilder.' And I thought to myself, 'I've found a world where they don't know about Oswald Mosley.' And it has always been a bit like that in motor racing: nobody gives a darn." He co-founded the March team and started working for the Constructors association where he met Bernie E and said "it was apparent that here was someone who knew how many beans made five and after about half an hour he moved round the table to sit next to me, and from then on he and I started operating as a team". After helping draw up the Concorde Agreement, Rufus worked for the Conservative party but found that his name was a hurdle in becoming a parliamentary candidate. In '91 he won the FISA Presidency over Jean Marie Balestre who himself had worked for the French SS in German occupied France during the war but claimed that he was working for the French resistence and those who knew of this fact had died during the war. Rufus then became FIA President in '93.

One observer described Oswald in the thirties as having a "fatal flaw in his character, of overwhelming arrogance and an unshakable conviction that he was born to rule." Coming out of jail in '43 Oswald was met with protests and tried at various stages to resume his political career. The most controversial being in '59 when he campained with immigration being the backbone of it in a community that just had race riots while Diana stayed with him throughout until his death in 1980. For her part she never did admit that she was wrong about Fascism/Nazism not because she was a holocaust denier but to not admit fault out of stubborness. That's the way it seems anyway.

Since the revelation Max has been treated by those in Motor sport like Bruno Senna treats dogs. I guess they figure that that is the way he likes it and most people have said that his position is (the word of the year) untenable while a few have said that Rufus should be judged on his record but why start now? Jean Todt was one of those who said something along those lines but he is just biding his time before he promotes the FIA/Ferrari relationship from translucent to transparent. It makes you wonder what would happen if a driver was caught doing something like this.

The nephew of Ian Sheckter (a former March driver) and son of Jody, Tomas Sheckter lost his testing duties with Jaguar in 2001 for soliciting a prostitute but what did they expect with Eddie Irvine as the team leader. The sex habits of other drivers?
