I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!

By: Daryl Beattie
Event: Ipswich
Date: 3 Aug 2007

I got to say this year I don't feel so good about the V8 category and it has taken me this long to swallow my bile and do a report. Many aspects have got on my goat about the season so far. In fact this year I feel like my goat has been sodomized, that's how bad it is. Mainly it has to do with Baby Bernie Ecclestone (Tony Cochrane). My first unrepressed memory is no V8's in Melbourne at the Grand Prix and I could overlook that despite Baby Bernie trying to do the beginning of the Indy manouver by heading as close as he can to equal billing. Really, it all started around the Pukekoe race in New Zealand.  more...

Where's Ron

By: Scotty Beveridge
Event: Winton
Date: 1 Jun 2007

Yeah... where is Ron??? No Doctor, not Ron of Ron's V-8 S-10 Page (ah that link is sooooo V8), but Ron, the long awaited and long needed new reporter for underSteer. Everyone around underSteer headquarters was excited waiting for the arrival of Ron with his report from Winton but now we feel like we're waiting for a Hunter S Thompson report from some Rally in Vegas. Well that's how Daryl and I feel. Gladious is too busy sharpening it's sickle. As for Richie and Joe, well they're not around much so it doesn't seem to affect them. So it seems I'm going have to take responsibility for bringing everyone up to date with V8's or at least get rid of the Eyes of the Dragon RIP report from the V8 home page. So what has been happening in V8's lately... well by reading the headlines from the crash.net RSS feed it seems Lee Holdsworth had a big akko, Tander had another couple of race wins, Caruso is in WPS for the enduros and Stone Brothers have signed up Youlden and Besnard for the enduros. So how about Lee's akko, yeah I dunno about that, so onto Tander's wins. That is brilliant. I know I'm going to regret writing this but anyway... I put $50 on Tander to win the most races of any Holden driver earlier in the season when centrebet were giving odds of about $2.50. I don't know what they're paying now but in my mind there's only one driver who can beat him in that, Rick Kelly, and that's only if Tander has some incidents. So everyone wish me the best on that one because I'll need that win for all the losses I'm bound to have at the Galway Races in August.  more...

Eyes of the Dragon RIP

By: Gladious Fermingo
Event: New Zealand
Date: 17 Apr 2007

Eyes of the Dragon was born on the 7th of March 2004 and died on the 10th of December 2006 of boredom. Although it was only a machine he had a caring owner and he made people smile. Eyes of the Dragon was referred to as all sorts of things over the time; from Deep Blue's inbred cousin, to Dexter from Perfect Match, but as it turned out nothing ever hurt Eyes of the Dragon (except Mark Holden).  more...
